Disney+ and Hulu drop first trailer for Marvel’s Echo

Among the upcoming Marvel Studios original series, Echo has been one of the question marks because its leading character, Maya Lopez, is not a headlining heroine in Marvel’s comics. However, the first trailer for Echo has been released by Disney+ and Hulu (which will both stream the series), and the first footage goes a long way towards winning us over by heavily leaning into the show’s TV-MA rating. Especially when Maya’s former guardian, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), brutally beats a man as Maya looks on.

D’Onofrio is everywhere in this trailer, which furthers the show’s connection to Daredevil. Charlie Cox will also reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in this series ahead of the upcoming revival show, Daredevil: Born Again. While Cox doesn’t appear in the trailer, the footage reveals that Fisk survived his violent encounter with Maya (Alaqua Cox) at the end of Hawkeye when she shot him and left him for dead. But she apparently blinded Fisk in one eye.

Maya followed Fisk’s lead and she was formerly a leader in his criminal organization. She only turned on Fisk after discovering that he was personally responsible for the death of her father, William Lopez (Zahn McClarnon). When Echo picks up, Maya has returned to her hometown in Oklahoma in an attempt to get away from her past.

Chaske Spencer co-stars as Henry, with Tantoo Cardinal as Chula, Graham Greene as Skully, Cody Lightning as Cousin Biscuits, and Devery Jacobs as Bonnie.

All episodes of Echo will premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on January 10, 2024. But it should be noted that Echo will only be on Hulu until April 9.

If you have to watch one Disney+ movie this March 2025, stream this one
A pair of Na'vi comfort each other in the water while flames spread around them in a scene from Avatar: The Way of Water.

Of all the streaming services out there, Disney+ is the one with the most unified catalog. For the most part, the stuff on there falls into a few big buckets. If you don't like animation, Star Wars, or Marvel, it can be easy to feel like nothing on Disney+ is for you.
If you're looking for a major blockbuster that's well worth your time, Avatar: The Way of Water is an excellent option. The movie, which became one of the highest-grossing in history when it was released in 2022, is a sequel to the first Avatar, but it's not the kind of franchise where every entry is required viewing. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
It's one of the most stunning movies ever made

Have you ever looked at the CGI in a movie and wondered why corporations spend millions of dollars to make their projects look terrible? If so, Avatar: The Way of Water might be for you. The movie was undoubtedly expensive, but every one of those dollars is on the screen.

What’s new on Disney+ in April 2025
The cast of Andor season 2.

It's a rare month on Disney+ when the streamer has new episodes of a Marvel and a Star Wars series. But April is one of those rare occasions. There are two remaining episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, and then Disney+ will dive into Andor season 2 by blowing through the 12 remaining episodes three-per-week.
Doctor Who is also coming back for a new season on Disney+, but perhaps the most exciting news for subscribers is that some of Hulu's content is coming to this streamer regardless of whether subscribers have both services. Clipped, Tell Me Lies, Interior Chinatown, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Reasonable Doubt, and White Collar will be available on Disney+ for no extra charge through at least the end of April. And if this becomes a regular thing, then more Hulu series may show up in May as well.
Our roundup of everything new on Disney+ in April 2025 can be found below, with our favorites highlighted in bold.

Matthew Lillard in Five Nights At Freddy's.

The premiere of Daredevil: Born Again is just a few days away, but there's a new cast member lined up for season 2. Matthew Lillard has signed on to join the latest Marvel Studios original series on Disney+, which is slated to begin filming its second season next week.

Deadline broke the story about Lillard's MCU debut, but there are no details known about which character he will play. Lillard portrayed Shaggy Rogers in two live-action Scooby-Doo movies and reprised his role in a number of animated projects. He also had prominent villain roles as Stu Macher in Scream and William Afton in Five Nights at Freddy’s. Despite his characters being killed in both movies, Lillard will reprise his role as Macher in Scream 7, and return as Afton in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
