Looking to switch from AT&T? T-Mobile offers DirecTV Now to sweeten the deal

It’s the holiday season, and T-Mobile is ready to give gifts.

On Thursday, the Un-carrier announced a new way to spread some holiday cheer for those looking to switch allegiances in the new year. So if you’re an AT&T Wireless customer who thinks you might be happier elsewhere, T-Mobile has a gift for you — it comes in the form of a free year of DirecTV Now, all for switching to T-Mobile One. It’s a giveaway valued at $420, and it kicks off on Friday.

“AT&T wants you to think DirecTV is theirs exclusively, but that’s a load of crap. Both DirecTV Now and the DirecTV apps stream free on T-Mobile with a faster, more advanced network that covers nearly every American,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “AT&T is so distracted by their new businesses and DirecTV that they continue to ignore their 110 million wireless customers. Luckily, the Un-carrier’s here to show them how to actually take care of customers!”

To take advantage of T-Mobile’s offer, AT&T customers will need to activate two lines and bring their related phone number to T-Mobile One. From there, you’ll receive a $35 monthly bill credit (which is equal to the monthly cost of DirecTV Now) every month for a year, as long as your lines remain active.

Moreover, if you’re a Simple Choice customer, DirecTV Now has been added to T-Mobile’s Binge On video streaming feature, which means you can stream programs from DirecTV in addition to the other video apps included, like Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Now.

So if all you want for Christmas is to watch a lot of TV, or to no longer be with AT&T, T-Mobile has you covered, in every sense of the word.

T-Mobile partners to promote Google apps for messaging, cloud storage, and TV

T-Mobile is going all-in on Google apps and services. The two companies have announced a massive partnership that will see T-Mobile officially support Android Messages (with RCS, or Rich Communication Services) on all of its Android phones, and promote a range of Google's apps and services in place of its own.

A few different Google apps and services will get pushed by T-Mobile as part of the deal. For example, Google One will be pushed as T-Mobile's "preferred phone backup and cloud solution," and YouTube TV will be promoted as T-Mobile's premium live TV solution.

T-Mobile’s new Magenta Max plan offers truly unlimited 5G data, 40GB of hot spot

T-Mobile is adding another phone plan to its lineup, and it's the plan you may want to go for if you're a heavy data user with a 5G-compatible phone. Why? The company says that it won't throttle users -- no matter how much data they use.

The new plan is called Magenta Max, and T-Mobile says it's the first plan to allow for unlimited 5G data use without being throttled based on how much data you use. Not only that, but you won't be limited in other ways either -- you'll be able to stream 4K video, and you'll get a hefty 40GB of hot spot data per month to share with other devices. (And of course, if you find yourself in a 4G-only area, you still get unlimited data.)

There are countless heartwarming stories about different ways the Apple Watch has helped saved people's lives. Recently, a similar story made news when a woman's cancer was caught, thanks to active alerts from an Apple Watch 10.

Amanda Faulkner, a consulting psychiatrist from New Zealand, recently narrated her story where her Apple Watch 10 helped diagnose a rare form of blood cancer, which, if left undiagnosed, would have left her dead in a matter of few days. Faulkner told the New Zealand Herald that her Apple Watch notified her of her unusually high resting heart rate of around 90 beats per minute -- which would typically be around 55 for her.
